Drop your audio here

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC · up to 100 MB

How it works

  1. Choose filePick an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file, or drop it on the box above.
  2. Drag to selectMove the two handles around the part you want, then press Play selection to hear it.
  3. DownloadSave a lossless WAV or an MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps.

There is no upload step, so how long this takes depends on your device, not on your connection.

Why browser-side

Your file stays on your device. Decoding and trimming run in the browser's own audio engine, so no audio bytes are sent anywhere. There is no server to send them to.

No upload wait. A trimmer that uploads first can only show you a waveform after the round trip. Here the waveform appears as soon as your device finishes decoding the file.

Close the tab and nothing is left. No account, no cloud copy, no history. Once the page is gone, the audio is gone from memory.

Supported formats

  • MP3
  • WAV
  • M4A
  • OGG
  • FLAC

Input: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC, decoded by your browser. Output: WAV (16-bit PCM, lossless) and MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps.

Limits.

  • Keep files under 100 MB. Browser memory is finite, and larger files can fail to decode.
  • Audio longer than about 30 minutes may stutter while you drag the handles on older devices.
  • Firefox decodes very large files more slowly than Chrome, Edge or Safari.

FAQ

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding and trimming happen locally with the Web Audio API. Your file never leaves your device.

What's the maximum file size?

Around 100 MB, depending on your browser's memory. Very long files may be slow on older phones.

Can I make an iPhone ringtone?

Yes. Cut the song to 40 seconds or less, download the MP3, and GarageBand turns it into the ringtone iOS expects. The iPhone ringtone page walks through the three steps.

Is it really free?

Yes. The site is supported by ads. No account, no watermark, no export limit.
